Here are the top stories today in Lower East Side-Chinatown:

  1. The Lower East Side's Marte Valley Secondary School has launched a new COVID testing site. The site at 145 Stanton St. will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. for PCR tests. The school joins a growing list of Lower East Side testing sites opening in recent weeks. (Bowery Boogie)
  2. An unidentified man opened fire inside the East Broadway subway station late Sunday night. The man was engaged in a verbal dispute with a group of subway passengers before he unloaded four rounds in their direction. There were no injuries reported, and the suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket, a red and purple track suit, and black sneakers. (WPIX 11 New York)
