  1. In light of the recent protests of the East Side Coastal Resiliency (ESCR) project, New York City Councilmember Carlina Rivera offers her full support for the project. Rivera believes the ESCR to be crucial in the city's fight against climate change, and that the updated East River Park will be essential in protecting Lower Manhattan against future storms. Meanwhile one of Rivera's political opponents, Allie Ryan, was arrested yesterday while protesting the commencement of the demolition to the East River Park. (The Village Sun)
