CHINATOWN, NY — Three men tried to rob a Chinatown jewelry store last week by spraying its employees with pepper spray and smashing one of the store's glass display cases, police said.
The men, who police are still searching for, tried to rob the Noble NY Jewelry store in broad daylight on Dec. 23, according to authorities.
The men approached the store, located at 109 Mott St., at about 11:30 a.m. One would-be robber used pepper spray on the store's employees while a second shattered the glass display case to try and remove jewelry, police said. The third man stood watch outside the store.
