Sleepwalker Tumbles Out Of Eighth Floor Window On LES, Police Say
The man took some of his girlfriend's sleeping pills before walking to the window ledge, police said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — A man survived a fall from an eighth-story window onto scaffolding below on Monday morning after he was sleepwalking and ended up on the window's ledge, police said.
Authorities believe that the man, 35, may have taken some of his girlfriend's sleeping pills before going to sleep on Sunday night in her apartment in the 230 block of Clinton Street, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.
At about 5 a.m. on Monday morning, police responded to 911 calls that the man was standing on a window ledge on the eighth-floor of the building, authorities said. He is believed to have fallen from the eighth floor to scaffolding constructed near the second floor of the building, all while still asleep.

The man suffered a broken rib and other injuries to his torso, the spokesman said.
The New York Post identified the man as Randy Phothisane, and said his family members had confirmed that he was stable after the fall.

"He’s OK. We’re waiting for more information," Phothisane’s brother told The Post.
