  1. The NYPD is searching for a man who pushed an 84-year-old woman to the ground on a Lower East Side street. The incident, which occurred on Dec. 11, left the senior victim with injuries to her face and back. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). (AMNY)
  2. A fleet of multilingual vaccination vans has begun offering on-the-go COVID-19 vaccines to 26 NYCHA developments in the Lower East Side. Appointments are not required to receive a dose from one of these vans. Eric Diaz, the executive director of Vision Urbana, the company responsible for the vaccine initiative, has said that the vans will be on the road until March 2022. (WPIX 11 New York)
  3. Teatro SEA decided to go on with its Three Kings Day celebration despite the recent spike in COVID-19 cases. The Lower East Side Hispanic young people’s theater opted to hold a virtual event for this year's celebration. (CBS New York)
  4. A large-scale crochet mural now adorns the fences of Columbus Park, on Mulberry and Baxter. The project titled "Stand-Speak-Shape" is composed of over 1,000 leaves, 1,000 crochet squares, and over 1,500 flowers. The artwork will be on display until October 2022. (Time Out New York)
