Here are the top stories today in Lower East Side-Chinatown:
- Residents of the Campos 2 NYCHA building on 14th Street are on edge after a man is seen wandering the hallways with what appears to be a sword. The suspect was seen on the 11th floor of the residential building and was confronted by a handful of frightened residents. Police were called about the incident but as of yet no arrests have been made. (WABC-TV)
- Chinatown's Spicy Village is contending with a new, almost identical eatery — New Spicy Village. Spicy Village co-owner Wendy Lian stated that the restaurants are not related at all despite their almost identical name and menu. The new eatery is owned and operated by Wendy Lian's brother, Zeng Xin Lian. (Eater NY)
- The Wonderland pop-up at Lorely Beer Garden is a great place to enjoy drinks this holiday season. Located at 7 Rivington St. on the Lower East Side, the pop-up run by Lorely will feature festive drinks and a holiday atmosphere. The restaurant will offer various happy hour holiday specials. (amNY)
