Here are the top stories in Lower East Side-Chinatown today:
- A teenager was stabbed in the torso on Friday afternoon following a verbal dispute with another teenager. The two were engaged in an argument along Eldridge Street near Delancey Street, which led to the attack. The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he is expected to survive, while the investigation remains ongoing. (WPIX 11 New York)
- Local gallery owner Hong Gyu Shin is celebrating the ten year anniversary of his Shin Gallery by showcasing works from his personal collection. Shin opened his namesake gallery at the age of 23, and it has been a staple of the Lower East Side's art community ever since. (Art Newspaper)
- CBS's The Equalizer is tackling anti-Asian hate crimes in its latest episode, airing tonight at 8 p.m. The episode will touch on topics that Asian American community members are experiencing; violence, racism, vandalism, and frustration and a lack of trust in the justice system.
