  1. East River Park activists successfully filed for a temporary restraining order, thus halting the demolition of the park. Arthur Schwartz and Kathryn Freed represented the activists as the attorneys who successfully petition for the halt on the demolition. This news comes only days after activists gathered in an attempt to prevent work from beginning on the park's tennis courts, where City Council District 2 hopeful Allie Ryan was arrested.
