Here are the top stories today in Lower East Side-Chinatown:

  1. An Excluded workers' protest disrupted traffic on the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges on Tuesday morning. The workers are calling for an extra $3 billion for the Excluded Workers Fund, and permanent program to provide compensation to workers who have lost a job or income and are ineligible for unemployment insurance. There were over 300 protestors between the two bridges. (WABC-TV)
  2. The New York Road Runners joined with the Ukrainian Running Club NYC over the weekend to run a 5K, demonstrating solidarity with the people of Ukraine. The runners set off from Battery Park on Saturday morning, many dressed in blue and yellow. The Ukrainian Running Club has asked for donations to organizations like UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders in order to support those in Ukraine. (ABC 7 NY)
  3. The city-based sushi chain Momoya will open a new location at the corner of Prince and Mulberry streets. The two-floor 4,400 square foot space has been vacant for four years and will now mark Momoya's third location. The new restaurant is slated to open on March 30. (Bowery Boogie)
