1. Verizon will move their operations from the existing building at 140 West St. to a new, 143,000 square-foot office building at the Essex Crossing development. The telecommunications firm signed a 20-year lease for their new location, occupying the third through fifth floors. The move will come after nearly two decades of operating at their current Lower Manhattan location. (Commercial Observer)
2. Bluestockings recently announced the first Lower East Side Book Crawl. Independent bookshops will host a day filled with free treats, discounts, and of course, many books. Join the crawl on Saturday, Oct. 30! (Bowery Boogie)
