Here are the best new restaurants that have opened in New York City recently, just in time for the weekend.

Location: 120 Rivington St., Lower East Side

What to eat: This inventive new bakery on the Lower East Side is opening its doors on Saturday. The new bakery will bring you baked staples, with a twist. The menu includes the NYC, which stands for the New York Croissant, a croissant stuff with lox, cream cheese and capers. If you something on the sweeter side, the bakery serves a triple black donut, which is made with squid ink brioche, black sesame creme patissier, charcoal meringue, all of which is rolled in something called activated charcoal sugar.

What to eat: This popular breakfast taco spot has a new location near Barclays Center. This one is a pop-up, which will stick around until 2019. They’ll be serving the same options as their Clark Street outpost, where you can build your own breakfast taco.

Merakia

Location: 5 W. 21st St., Flatiron

What to eat: This upscale Greek restaurant opened last month in a beautiful new Midtown space. The menus features dishes including grilled lamp chops, lamp rump, and other meat dishes, but also has a sizable section of non-meat options.

Hutch + Waldo

Location: 247, E. 81st St., Upper East Side

What to drink: Coffee. This new coffee shop opened this week thanks to the former professional rugby player Alastair McFarland, who trying to bring the best of Australian coffee culture to Manhattan. The shop’s menu also includes fresh sandwiches, salads, and other cafe fare.
