Here are the top stories in Lower East Side-Chinatown today:

  1. A woman was found fatally stabbed at her Chrystie Street apartment building early on Sunday morning. The 35-year-old is believed to have been followed by a male suspect who was arrested at the scene. Police stated that the suspect refused to let them into the apartment after they responded to the 911 call. (AMNY)
  2. John Blasco officially stepped down as the male Democratic district leader for the 74th Assembly District due to his moving to Brooklyn to live with his partner. The 32-year-old Lower East Side native had most recently been leaving at the Riis houses on Avenue D. Blasco will, however, remain in his role as chief of staff for Assembly member Harvey Epstein, who represents the 74th Assembly District. (The Village Sun)
  3. Culturespaces won an approval for an immersive Gustav Klimt exhibit at Lower Manhattan's Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank building. The "Hall des Lumières" will open this summer at the Chambers Street location location. Advance registration for tickets to the immersive experience are already underway.(New York YIMBY)
