- Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou has come under fire for her actions on Twitter regarding the NYPD. The online arguing began on Monday when Niou retweeted a video of of NYPD officers waiting maskless in a subway station. Further controversy ensued when Niou liked a meme on Twitter that drew a comparison between the funeral for slain officer Jason Rivera, and a Nazi rally. (MSN)
- The removal of the Delancey Foot Bridge is nearing completion as the city proceeds with its $1.45 billion resiliency project. The night work on the bridge and surrounding area is expected to last up to four weeks. Artistic renderings for the bridge's replacement have been made public. (Bowery Boogie)
- Asian-American advocates are voicing major concerns over the proposed congressional redistricting maps that are set to go into motion. If approved, these plans would bring dramatic changes to Lower Manhattan for the next decade. Many community leaders fear that these plans will split up communities and have shut out the public throughout the decision-making process. (The Village Sun)
