Malverne High School 50th Reunion to Be Held on June 14 - 15

The class is donating two trees and an eight-foot park bench to the school.

The Malverne High School Class of 1963 will be celebrating its 50th reunion on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15.

The class of '63 will be returning to Malverne to celebrate and renew friendships with stops at Lucy’s (now "Our Towne Grill"), Connolly Station, the Malverne Historical Society (catered by Malverne Deli), tours of the schools, dinner at Franks Steakhouse in Rockville Centre, and winding up with a Sunday Brunch at the Swiss Tavern, alum Dan Littauer told Patch.

In recognition of the anniversary and in appreciation and honor of the alumni and teachers, Littauer said that the class is donating two trees and an eight-foot park bench to the school to be placed at the south side of the building facing Ocean Ave.

"Mr. Bob Fleming, the main grounds keeper, has been working with us to create a beautiful setting for our gifts and is expanding upon it by creating a planting area to further beautify the area," Littauer said. "The School Board voted to accept our donation and have extended their sincere appreciation for our heartfelt gift to Malverne High."

In addition, the Class of '63 awarded a $500 scholarship to graduating senior Amanda Santoro for her excellence in academics and activities. Santoro will be attending Queens College.
