The Sunflower Bake Shop conveniently located on Hempstead Ave in the heart of West Hempstead is the place for you! We have a separate dedicated gluten free kitchen where helping you to eat safely is our top priority. Everything is made from scratch- no prefab mixes or preservatives. It’s just like Grandma’s house on Sundays… with a gourmet twist!
I say to my customers, “ What do you love? What do you miss? How can I make it happen for you?”
Such delicious treats include cookies, muffins, cupcakes, brownies, blondies and so much more. Need a cake? How about vanilla or chocolate cake, strawberry shortcake, red velvet cake, carrot cake, apple cake? Then there is cheesecake in every possible flavor option you can think of. New York Cheesecake, of course. We have chocolate, amaretto, chocolate amaretto, rum raisin, strawberry chocolate chip, pumpkin, white chocolate raspberry and more. Every Christmas and New Year’s celebration needs an eggnog rum nutmeg cheesecake! Then there’s the famous chocolate mousse! That’s THE dessert that put me on the map. I even have gluten free sandwich bread. My repertoire is ever- evolving to meet the needs of my loyal customers.
Almost anything can be made gluten free and I can “vegan-ize” a large array of desserts. The sky is the limit bound only by your and my imagination.
I also have gluten free chocolate pretzels sold loose by the pound or as a beautiful hostess gift on a platter with seasonal chocolate. It makes an impressive presentation. We also do chocolate and cookie favors for events.
Sunflower Bake Shop is peanut and sesame free. I rarely use tree nuts because of the many people with allergies. We are certified kosher under the Vaad Harabonim of Queens. Because we are a small specialty shop, we do require 24 hour notice when placing an order.
