NY State Senate District 9: New Candidates Emerge Amid Kaminsky Exit
Democrat Kenneth Moore faces Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick, the Republican, for the 9th Senate District seat.

LONG BEACH, NY — There is one major change this election for voters along the south shore; Todd Kaminsky is not on the ballot. The 9th District Senator retired as a politician.
So, a pair of challengers get the opportunity to fill the seat.
The lines were redrawn, although not dramatically, for this district. One noticeable difference —Rockville Centre, where Kaminsky had his office, is not part of the revamped 9th.

Moore served four terms as a village of Bellerose Trustee before being elected mayor in 2020.
His opponent is Republican Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick, a lifelong resident of Malverne.
The mother of four and an accomplished attorney was dealt a devastating blow when her husband Jim died suddenly.
She was named to replace her husband on the Malverne Village Board and later served as deputy mayor, budget director, police and fire commissioner.
