WHFD Hosting Carnival Fundraiser in August

The West Hempstead Fire Department is hosting a carnival and fundraiser next month to help the community as their centennial approaches.

WHFD, founded in 1919, decided to host a community event and raise funds to give back to the neighborhood as their 100th birthday approaches. After a successful street fair was held some years ago, the department decided to bring it back.

The carnival, set for Aug. 27-30, will feature food, rides, games, special help from department members, and live music from The Ronald Reagans Big 80s Show. The four-day event will be held at their headquarters at 295 Hempstead Turnpike.
