1 Killed, 2 Injured In Nassau Drunken Driving Crash: Police
Police say Juan DeLeon Collado crossed into oncoming traffic and drove head-on into another car, killing a passenger inside of it.

MASSAPEQUA PARK, NY — A Freeport man was arrested and faces drunken driving and manslaughter charges in a crash that killed a man and injured two other people in Massapequa Park early Sunday.
According to police, Juan DeLeon Collado, 29, of Freeport, was driving a 2003 Honda CR-V west on Sunrise Highway near Park Boulevard when he crossed over into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2022 Honda Civic.
The passenger in the Civic, a 24-year-old man, died at the scene. The Civic driver, a 28-year-old man, suffered leg and hip injuries, and was taken to a hospital.

The passenger in the CR-V, a 29-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. He is in critical condition.
Collado was arrested at the scene. He was also taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Collado is charged with driving while intoxicated, second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, second-degree assault, second-degree vehicular manslaughter and second-degree manslaughter. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
