2 Killed In Out-Of-Control Crash On Southern State Pkwy.: Police
The driver, who was hospitalized with serious injuries, faces several charges, state police said.
NORTH MASSAPEQUA, NY — Two people were killed in a Sunday night crash on the Southern State Parkway near Exit 30 in North Massapequa, state police said.
The one-car crash happened just after 11 p.m. A black 2016 Dodge Dart with four occupants was swerving in and out of lanes at a high rate of speed before losing control and crashing into a tree on the shoulder, state police said.
The driver, Jaden Dsouza, 19, of Queens, and front passenger Anthonie Marte, 23, Queens, were extracted from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital in serious condition, police said.

Hailey Dsouza, 21, and Crystal Alba-Figueroa, 23, were pronounced dead at the scene. Dsouza was trapped inside the vehicle and Alba-Figueroa was ejected from the vehicle, state police said.
Jaden Dsouza was charged with one count of driving while ability impaired by drugs, second-degree manslaughter, first-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree assault 2nd and aggravated vehicular homicide.
