MASSAPEQUA, NY — Due to heavy rain yesterday, the Nassau County Department of Health has advised against swimming at two Massapequa beaches.

The advisory is in effect all day today. It is a precautionary measure imposed on beaches known to be impacted by stormwater runoff after heavy rains. The runoff can raise bacteria levels, which can make the water at the beaches unsafe for swimming.

The DOH is advising against bathing at the Biltmore Beach Club and Phillip Healey Beach.
