Brady Park to Host 'Zombie Run'

Fundraiser to benefit special olympics.

Two days after Halloween, Massapequans will be running to avoid zombies in Brady Park.

The first ever Special Olympics rUNDEAD 5k will be held at the park on November 2.  It's a fun twist on the standard 5k race with all funds going to Special Olympics New York.

Runners will go to the starting line with three flags representing lifelines.  Volunteers dressed like zombies will try to grab the flags from runners  one at a time. If the runner loses all three flags, they can finish the race, but they won't be eligible for awards or prizes.

Runners can register to compete in the race or be a non-competitive runner online for $40.

Would-be zombies can also sign up online or pay a $60 fee on the day of the race.
