Candidate Profile: Vivianne Falcone

Name: Vivianne Falcone

Party: Democrat

Bio: Falcone has a background in education and has worked as an adjunct professor of Developmental Studies Program at Farmingdale State College, according to her campaign. She's also served as an alternate school teacher at Bellport High School. She's been active in the West Islip PTA, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. 

She has criticized her opponent Rep. Peter King, R-Seaford, for voting to repeal funding to states for implementing health exchages required by the new health care law and voting to weaken the Clean Air Act.

She's argued that the House budget drawn up by GOP Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan would "end Medicare as we know it."

Education: Graduate of Western Connecticut State College with a degree in Elementary Education.
