Ceremonies Planned for Massapequa Farmingdale Game

Undefeated teams face off Saturday.

It may be the biggest football game of the year and there are some special events planned for Saturday's Massapequa-Farmingdale matchup.

Both teams are undefeated entering the game, which kicks off at 3 p.m.

It's part of the Great American Rivalry Series, a program that highlights games between traditional rivals throughout the country.

There are several events and ceremonies planned for the game, including a pre-game presentation to the two top scholar athletes on each team. An alumnus from each school will receive a trophy at halftime.

The championship trophy and an MVP trophy will be presented by members of the United States Marine Corps.

The Massapequa School District issued a letter to parents with some safety reminders for those attending the game:

  • Reserved parking and entrance points into the game for all Massapequa supporters will be on the Wesr side of the high school parking lot, the lot outside the bagel shop. . School security will direct all spectators to the stadium from the parking lot.
  •  Spectators are asked not to park in the lakeside parking lot or the Southgate shopping center lot
  • No backpacks, containers or coolers will be permitted into the game. Refreshments will be available for purchase at the concession stand.
