Cops: Massapequa Park Motorcyclist Fled Police at 100 MPH

The man weaved through traffic as he tried to escape being pulled over on the LIE the Wednesday morning, Suffolk Police said

A Massapequa Park man was arrested Wednesday morning for speeding at 100 mph on the Long Island Expressway and trying to escape officers who attempted to pull him over, according to Suffolk County Police.

Police received a 911 call at 8:10 a.m. about a motorcyclist speeding in the eastbound lanes of the LIE near Exit 51 toward Route 231 in Deer Park, cops said.

A highway patrol officer spotted the motorcycle near Exit 55 in Hauppauge and turned on his lights to make a traffic stop, police said. Instead of pulling over, the motorcyclist accelerated and began weaving between cars to escape the officer, cops said.
