Cops Probe More Tire Thefts
Thefts at Wantagh auto dealership resemble recent incidents in North Massapequa.

Several tires and rims were stolen from new vehicles parked at a Wantagh automobile dealership early Tuesday morning and police are investigating whether the thefts are related to similar incidents that have occurred recently in southeast Nassau County.
According to detectives, all four tires and rims were removed from seven new vehicles parked in the lot of on 3614 Sunrise Hwy, Wantagh between 2-6 a.m. Tuesday. The estimated value of loss from the vehicles, which were left lying on top of bricks, is $26,000, according to police. There is no description of the suspects responsible for the thefts.
A Nassau County Police Department spokesman said detectives are investigating whether the tire and rim thefts in Wantagh are related to earlier this month.
