Cops Seek 5 in Massapequa Tire Theft

Police released surveillance photos Tuesday of the theft, which happened in May.

Nassau Police are searching for five people caught on surveillance video stealing tires in Massapequa on May 10.

Between 4 a.m. and 4:10 a.m., five people wearing hoodies were seen on camera getting out of a minivan on N. Albany Avenue in N. Massapequa, police said.

The group stole four tires and rims from a nearby car before fleeing, cops said.

The incident is similar to many tire and rim thefts plaguing Nassau County, officials said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
