Out of an abundance of caution due to the high winds and heavy rains forecast from Tropical Storm Ophelia, we are postponing Long Island DogFest to a later date. Stay tuned for more details, and get ready to enjoy DogFest Long Island with your furry friends, while supporting Canine Companions!!!!!

WHAT: It’s a tail-waggin’ good time you won’t want to miss! Canine Companions DogFest Long Island raises money for Canine Companions service dogs to help people with disabilities. Gather your family and friends on Saturday, September 23. Clients, volunteers, donors, supporters, and your own canine friends, are invited as we celebrate the mission of Canine Companions. It will be a day of games, inspiring speakers, activities for your kids, service dog demonstrations, music, and more. Here’s a Sneak Peak!

WHEN: Saturday, September 23; 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Marjorie Post Park, 451 Unqua Road, Massapequa Park, NY, 11762

WHO: Everyone is invited to participate! There is no cost, but you can register at: canine.org/dogfestlongisland and start fundraising and spread the word about this fun and family friendly event.

WHY: Since 1975, Canine Companions continues to place expertly trained service dogs to adults, children, and veterans with disabilities, free of charge. Our mission is to help our clients and their service dogs live with greater independence. Help us raise money to provide exceptional dogs for the over 400 people currently waiting for their new canine partners.

Rules for Pooches and Pups at DogFest: - No female dogs in heat. - Dogs attending must be social and friendly with other dogs and people. - Dogs attending must be comfortable in crowds. - Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. This means puppies must be over 4 months old and have completed their full set of puppy vaccinations, including rabies. All dogs must be kept on a leash, no longer than 6 feet, at all times. - Dogs must be ready to have a good time, exhibited by lots of tail wagging!

We provide service dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities and facility dogs to professionals working in healthcare, criminal justice and educational settings.
