Fundraiser Launched For Daughter Of Woman Killed In Massapequa

Friends and family started a fundraiser to help the infant daughter of Irene Maiolica-Spantopanagos, who was murdered over the weekend.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — Friends and family of Irene Maiolica-Spantopanagos started a fundraiser to help her 18-month-old daughter Alessia, after her mother's murder over the weekend.

Maiolica-Spantopanagos, 29, was stabbed in an attempted murder-suicide in Massapequa on March 12. She died a day later from her injuries.

The fundraiser was created to offset the medical and funeral costs, as well as provide for the care of Alessia.
