Higher and Higher
It stood out.
Another cleverly placed pithy advertisement in a magazine was sashaying in the limelight vying for the vulnerable: Highest Version of Yourself!

As a society that is continually criticized, penalized, and held to unrealistic standards of beauty or accomplishments, we understandably tend to perceive ourselves as flawed and unwittingly mark ourselves as prey for exploitative propaganda and programs.
These sketchy slogans undermine an already wounded confidence and promote a deep based fear of not being enough by slyly focusing our attention on inadequacies and failures all the while monopolizing and profiting on them.

These promotions promise to unblock stagnation, elevate joy, and grant abundance by purchasing a book, class, or seminar.
It is a nice notion, but true transformation often comes through awareness and perseverance not the enchanting chutzpah of the wave of a wand.
Regrettably, there is no magic pill or instantaneous remedy to boost self-esteem or dissolve adversities or afflictions.
Wellness usually occurs over a spectrum, with small shifts paving a secure and honorable foundation.
The Good News is that as the Good Shepherd, Jesus is always waiting to assist and support us.
Fully comprehending that we require His guidance and protection, He will never abandon us.
Similarly, Jesus relied on God the Father for direction and wisdom and specifically and fervently allotted ample prayer time to commune with The Father to ensure He was proclaiming and exemplifying God's will.
He wants us to lean on him, depend on Him.
Recall, we are nothing without God, who created humanity from dust and animated it with His breath and Spirit.
And here is the unexpected twist: for His will, to serve Him.
Many scurry and worry about fixing and polishing the exterior but that which resides within dictates what manifests outwardly.
The more despondent one feels; the more hopeless and unalluring one will appear.
Altering and upgrading the external may inspire the world to appraise you differently but pleasing others is not the ultimate goal.
By revising yourself for the benefit of others, you lose touch with your authentic self and God who designed you for His specific purposes.
Unimaginably, those perceived shortcomings you feverishly and earnestly attempt to repudiate, could be the precise catalyst to the best you yet.
Unfortunately, in this frenzied superficial mode, our spiritual vision and connection to God and what He has created us to accomplish is neglected and obscured.
As body, mind, and spirit beings, we possess a homeostatic gauge that signals when something is 'off.'
Since overall balance is essential, decreasing the physical components and compulsions, automatically amplifies the spiritual.
Blessings come in an arrayment of packages and seeking the largest and most attractively adorned one may backfire and be nothing more than a carefully executed ploy masking unforeseen and unwanted hazards.
Don't be fooled.
The highest version of yourself already exists.
It is your powerful sage Soul, your Godliness.
We are facsimiles of God, born fully equipped and impeccable.
The next time you are searching and striving for perfection, look in the mirror, and thank God.
The Lord's Ascension Day is May 29th, commemorating when He rose higher and higher.
How sublime.
~ "So then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them, was taken up to into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of God," Mark 16:19. ~
