LONG ISLAND, NY — It's going to be a scorcher of a weekend on Long Island, so it's probably a good weekend to spend swimming at the beach — unless sharks show up again.

It's going to be in the mid 90s all weekend, according to the National Weather Service, with mostly clear skies. But the heat index will make it feel even hotter. There is a heat advisory in effect from today through to Sunday night, so make sure you stay cool.

The temperatures will rich a high of 95 degrees on Sunday, and then start to come down slightly. Monday's high is predicted to be 91 degrees, and rain Monday night could cool things down more.
