Long Island Weather: Mild, Sunny Week Ahead

LONG ISLAND, NY — If March is coming in like a lion this year, it's a very tame lion. The weather this week is going to be sunny and mild, with only a slight chance of showers in the middle of the week.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will be in the high 30s to low 40s most of the week, peaking around 49 degrees on Wednesday. There's a slight chance for showers Wednesday night, but it's otherwise sunny skies for the rest of the week.

That will hold out all the way until the weekend, when the weather may take a turn. There's a 50 percent chance of rain Saturday night into Sunday, but that comes with rising temperatures.
