Long Islanders Will Walk To End Cancer Next Month In Massapequa
Mighty Mason's Warriors Awareness Walk takes place on May 4 at Marjorie Post Park.
MASSAPEQUA, NY — Long Islanders are invited to participate in a fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The Town of Oyster Bay is partnering with Drug Free Long Island for the Mighty Mason's Warriors Awareness Walk. It takes place on May 4 at Marjorie Post Park.
Mighty Mason's Warriors was created after 'Mighty' Mason Maier was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at just three-years-old. He is strong, caring nine-year-old and is cancer-free after three years of treatment.

Mason's mother is Councilwoman Laura Maier.
"My son's strength inspires me every day, and together we can raise awareness, spread hope, and make a difference in the fight against leukemia. Every step we take brings us closer to a world without cancer," she said.

Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. and the walk kicks off at 10:45 a.m. Teams or individuals can also pre-register at info@drugfreeli.org.
A free t-shirt will be given to the first 200 participants.
