Man Charged in 2014 Massapequa Burglary
A Mastic man was charged with breaking into a fire prevention contractor's store, police said.

A Mastic man faces charges for breaking into a Massapequa fire prevention business in 2014, according to Nassau County Police.
At 11:10 p.m. on July 17, two men were caught on surveillance camera inside A&F Fire Prevention, cops said. The pair had forced open a small window, entered the building, and stolen a Rigid drill set, police said.
Investigators discovered latent fingerprints on the window and made a match on Dec. 17, 2014. The fingerprints belonged to Francisco Merced, 25, of Mastic, cops said.

Merced was finally found on May 27 in Bay Shore and taken into custody, police said. The drill set was recovered.
Merced was charged with third-degree burglary. He will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police are continuing the search for the second person caught on surveillance video.
