Massapequa Athlete Honored By Town
Gina Cantatore was recognized for her performance both on and off the field.

NORTH MASSAPEQUA, NY — The Town of Oyster Bay recently recognized Gina Cantatore, of North Massapequa, for her athletic and academic accomplishments spanning the entirety of her four years at the University of Delaware.
Cantatore won the UCA National Collegiate Cheerleading Championship for four consecutive years as a member of the University of Delaware Blue Hens, all while she earned a top spot on the Dean’s list for four consecutive years, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience.
“Gina’s passion for cheerleading was ignited when she joined the Plainedge Bobcat’s Cheerleading team. Her dedication to academic success was fostered and flourished during her time in the Plainedge School District,” said Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino. “Gina is a shining example of a homegrown superstar, and we are so excited to see what she does next.”
