MASSAPEQUA, NY — Travis Honeyman is no longer just a top baseball prospect on paper. The Massapequa resident was selected Monday by the St. Louis Cardinals in the MLB Draft
Honeyman blossomed during the past two seasons for Boston College as an everyday outfielder, the BC Eagles wrote.
Honeyman, who went to Massapequa High School, hit .304 in 39 games this season for Boston College. In a March 2022 game, Honeyman notched his second career four-hit, four-runs scored game.

Picked in the third round, he was the 90th overall selection. The pick would likely translate into at least a $750,000 contract, if he decides to skip his senior year, Newsday said.
