If you've been driving on Merrick Road in recent weeks, you may have done a double take at a car parked near the entrance of the Massapequa Preserve.
It's hard not to notice a car that looks like a police vehicle poised make a traffic stop. But on closer inspection, the rear of the vehicle resembles a taxi.
It is Nassau County's "choose your ride" car, which is designed to remind residents that they do have a choice of going home by cab when they drink, rather than spend a night in jail.
