Massapequa Man Convicted in Fatal 2010 Shooting

Shawn Lawrence faces 75 years to life in prison for shooting that killed one and wounded two others, the Suffolk DA said.

A Massapequa man was convicted Thursday for shooting and killing a Suffolk County man and wounding two others, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.

Shawn Lawrence, 42, was convicted of second-degree murder, two counts of second-degree attempted murder, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, the DA said. Lawrence faces a maximum of 75 years to life in state prison, officials said.

“There is a measure of vindication in the jury’s rejection of the defense attorney’s efforts to find fault in the investigation of his client and their conviction of Shawn Lawrence on all charges,” Suffolk DA Thomas Spota said in a statement.
