More Than $3,000 Worth In Graffiti Damage At Tobay Beach: Police

Two people, including a 20-year-old man, was taken into custody for the weekend incident, police said.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — Two people were arrested for scrawling graffiti across Tobay Beach, police said.

On Saturday afternoon, police said, a male juvenile and Tayyab Muhammad, 20, spray painted at the Boatyard and Surf Shack restaurants, mens' and womens' bathrooms, the concession stand, west bathhouse and the 9/11 Memorial Wall.

There were $3,500 in damages, police said.

They arrested on Sunday without incident. Muhammad is charged with second-degree criminal mischief and making graffiti, police said. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.

The juvenile faces the same charges and arraignment.
