Nassau Police Holding National Night Out Events Across County
You can come out to the free events and enjoy parades, giveaways and more with your family.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Tonight is the National Night Out, a chance for community members to spend time with police officers. The Nassau County Police Department will be holding events across the county.
This year is the 38th Annual National Night Out. It's designed to help the police build camaraderie with the residents they serve, as well as heighten crime-prevention awareness.
Each of the NCPD's eight precincts is holding one or two events. They are free and open to everyone.

The events are:
Uniondale Fire Department – Van Ness Fire House, 154 Uniondale Ave, Uniondale. 6 to 9 p.m. Sponsored by Legislator Kevan Abrahams. Family fun evening, giveaways, crime prevention awareness.

Baldwin High School – 841 Ethel T. Kloberg Drive, Baldwin. 5:30 to 11 p.m. Legislator Mule will be participating in the event. Crime prevention literature will be available.
Broadway Mall – Hicksville, in rear parking lot next to the Police Annex. 6 to 8 p.m. Partnered with Legislators Drucker, Walker, Schaefer and Lafazan. The event will be sponsored by the Superior Officers Association, Broadway Mall and Home Depot. It will feature entertainment, family activities and giveaways.
Martin “Bunky” Reid Park – Broadway Ave, Westbury, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This event starts with a parade which will assemble at the Salvation Army, 992 Prospect Ave. at 5 p.m. and begins to march at 5:30 p.m. The parade will proceed westbound on Prospect Avenue, turn left onto southbound Swalm Street, continue across Broadway and enter the park. At the conclusion of the parade, there will be a fair at the park beginning at 6 p.m. Legislator Bynoe and the Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSana are participating in the event.
Kelleher Field – Williston Park, 7 to 9 p.m. A Children’s Ride for a Safer Williston Park Parade assembles at Broad and Amherst Streets and begins at 7 p.m. The parade concludes at Kelleher Field, where a Block Captain’s meeting of the Williston Park Neighborhood Watch will take place at 7:30 p.m., followed by National Night Out festivities.
Cedarhurst Park – located at Cedarhurst and Summit Avenues, Cedarhurst, 6 to 10 p.m. during a Concert in the Park. Crime prevention literature will be distributed.
Wheeler Avenue Elementary School – 1 Wheeler Avenue West, Valley Stream, 6 to 8 p.m. Organized in conjunction with Legislator Carrie Solages, Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages, Councilman Tom Muscarella and Mayor Brown. Music, entertainment, food, activities and giveaways are planned.
Whitney Pond Park – 133 Valley Road, Manhasset, 3 to 7 p.m. Crime prevention literature will be distributed to the public. There will be arts and crafts, ice cream trucks, food vendors and children’s safety/fire awareness lectures.
John Burns Park — Merrick Road in Massapequa. 5 to 8 p.m. Held in conjunction with
"Music Under the Stars" program, which begins at 8 p.m. Residents will have an
opportunity to speak with their local precinct personnel and receive crime prevention tips.
Bethpage High School – 10 Cherry Ave., Bethpage, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Legislators Rose Walker and Laura Schaefer are sponsoring event. Music provided by “Tom Chupka and Friends” band. Face painting, giveaways and snacks. Hicksville Fire Department's "Smoke House" fire-prevention trailer will be there.
