
Plainedge Middle School students have added a bit of 21st century technology to their work at school and at home.
Nearly 1,000 iPads have been distributed to 5th and 6th graders, whose parents signed user agreements specifying the scope with which they can be used.
According to the district website, students have used the devices to teleconference with NASA to learn abut how we gather information about earth from the space agency's satellites.
Other students have used the devices to make environmentally themed videos or to help create a collaborative resource project.
