An intersection in Queens will be renamed in memory of a slain NYPD officer from Massapequa.

The New York City Council voted last week to co-name the intersection of 222nd Street and 92nd Road in Queens Village “Detective 1st Grade Brian Moore Way,” according to the New York Post.

The intersection is the site of the 105th Precinct, of which Moore was a member.

Detective Moore was senselessly killed earlier this year, and as we vote to give him this small recognition, we as a city remain resolute that violence against the brave men and women of the New York City Police Department is never acceptable and will never be tolerated,” Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito said, according to the report.

Moore’s alleged assailant, Demetrius Blackwell, 35, was indicted in June for Moore’s murder, according to the Queens DA.

Moore joined NYPD in 2010 and was part of the 105th Precinct’s anti-crime team. In his short career, Moore received two exceptional police service medals and two meritorious police service medals, honors NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton said they “don’t give out easily.” The officer made more than 150 arrests while at NYPD and had “proved himself to be an exceptional young officer,” Bratton added.

Moore was posthumously promoted to detective.
