MASSAPEQUA, NY — Despite the heat, a beach in Massapequa has been closed to bathing due to health risks.

The Nassau County Department of Health has closed Biltmore Beach Club in Massapequa to bathing today due to elevated bacteria levels in the water.

Health officials said the beaches will remain closed to swimming until bacteria levels are within acceptable limits.
