Chances to Help Your Neighbors This Week

Here's what's happening this week in and around Massapequa.

This is a great week to show your neighbors you care. We're going to tell you about a couple of opportunities to do that and let you know what else is going on. Each Monday we'll tell you about the can't-miss events, important public meetings and whatever else is going around town. Here's what's happening in and around Massapequa this week:

Blood Drive: The Town of Oyster Bay is holding a blood drive on Wednesday at several locations, including Town Hall South in Massapequa from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Cleanup: Nassau County has scheduled a cleanup of Massapqua Lake Saturday from 10 a.m.  to 2 p.m.  o volunteer for the event, residents must register with the Nassau County Department of Public Works by emailing http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/weedpull.

Tribute Bands: The Music Under the Stars Series continues in Massapequa  Friday at 8 p.m. at Burns Park with the Cast of Beatlemania and the Chicago tribute band "Beginnings." 

Oldies: Music Under the Stars will classic music to Burns Park with Lenny Cocco and the Chimes, Tommy Mara and The Crests, as well as Shirley Alston Reeves. Showtime is 8 p.m.

Children's Performance: There will be a kids magic show featuring "THe Magic of Amore, Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Marjorie Post Park.
