Here's what's happening in and around Massapequa this week:

The Great Cooldown: We're not saying autumn has arrived, but the national Weather is forecasting highs in the 80s over the next few days. That's a far cry from last week when the mercury made it to 90 and beyond most days. There will be a chance of thunderstorms or showers over the next couple of days.

Concerts: This will be one of Massapequas busiest weeks for concerts. The  Town of Oyster Bay's "Music Under the Stars" series will hold three concerts at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa This week. On Tuesday "The Orchestra" featuring former members of ELO, will perform. Two country music acts take the stage Friday. Burton Cummings of "Guess Who" fame will play Saturday.

Village Meeting: The new look Massapequa Park Village Board meets for the second time Monday at 8 p.m. with new mayor Jeffrey Pravato and new trustee Richard Begandy.

Town Board: The Oyster Bay Town Board also meets this week at Town Hall North. They convene Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Street Fair: The St. Rose of Lima Family Festival goes into its second week running from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.
