Waiting For Class to Start in Massapequa
Students will wait an extra week before kicking off the new school year. Is the extra time a welcome rest or an inconvenience?

The traditional post-Labor Day start to classes in the Massapequa School District will not happen this year.
Schools will be open next Tuesday for the first of two days of teacher orientation, but due to the Rosh Hashannah holiday, students won't start until Sept. 9.
This schedule will meet with almost universal approval from students, but we'd like to know what parents think.
Is the late start an inconvenience or a godsend? Are you making plans for an extended vacation, or scrambling to find child care?
