Man accused of knife and bat attack

A North Massapequa man attacked another man with a knife and a baseball bat, police said.

The two men had been engaged in an ongoing dispute and Michael Giovannelli, 31 of North Suffolk Avenue went to the victim's home on July 7 and allegedly pulled a knife.

A struggle ensued in front of the home and the victim was able to knock Giovanbelli down.

Giovanelli then went to his car and grabbed a knife, police said.  The victim was able to k knock his attacker down a second time.

He then got into his car and drove away from Giovannelli. Nobody was hurt. Giovenelli surrendered to police on Wednesday.  He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.
