2 Long Island HS Students Chosen For Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade In NYC

MEDFORD, NY — As the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade line of march wends its way through Manhattan Thursday, it will feature two Patchogue-Medford High School student-musicians, school district officials said.
Senior trumpeter Katie Curcio and junior percussionist Michael Russell are two of around 185 that have been selected to march in Macy’s Great American Marching Band.
The pair, who were selected from across the United States for the prestigious group, will rehearse with the band this week in New York City in preparation for their performance, which will be broadcast live on NBC.

They are two of four local students tapped to play in the band.
Sachem students Jaden Rudnicki and Amanda Morda will also march in the parade on Thursday.
