Brush Fire Spreads From One Yard To Another In Medford: Police
It happened at around 4 p.m., Suffolk police say.
MEDFORD, NY — A brush fire spread from the backyard of one Medford home to another, drawing area firefighters on Thursday, Suffolk police said.
A 911 caller reported hearing two loud bangs, possibly a transformer, and then seeing smoke coming from a location on Sipp Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Thursday, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found a small brush fire in the rear of a home on Sipp Avenue, and it had crossed over to the rear of another nearby home, police said, adding that the Medford Fire Department extinguished the fire.

No one was hurt.
The Brookhaven Fire Marshal on scene found nothing suspicious, police said.

Power was knocked out in the area, however it is not clear if that was due to a transformer sparking the fire.
