Dirt Bike Rider Seriously Injured In Collision With Car In Suffolk: PD

A woman driving a car was turning into a parking lot when two dirt bikes hit her Mustang, police say.

MEDFORD, NY — A man riding a dirt bike was seriously injured in a collision in Medford early Thursday, Suffolk police said.

An 18-year-old Medford woman was driving a 2014 Ford Mustang northbound on Route 112 when she tried to make a left turn into a parking lot and was struck by two southbound dirt bikes at 12:10 a.m., police said.

Tomeik Young, 23, of Middle Island, who was operating a Suzuki 450 dirt bike, was brought to
a hospital in serious condition, police said.

A passenger on the Suzuki, a 17-year-old Bellport male, suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, police said. A 20-year-old Bellport man operating a Honda 150 dirt bike also suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.

The Mustang driver was not injured, police said.

All vehicles involved were impounded for safety checks. Detectives asked anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
