Long Island Man Loses 3 Fingers When Firework Explodes In Hand
The firework exploded in his hand late Wednesday night, police say.

GORDON HEIGHTS, NY – A Long Island man was seriously injured in a fireworks accident on the Fourth of July, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, a 26-year-old man lit a firework while outside of his home on Wilson Avenue in Gordon Heights at about 11:30 p.m. The man, who police did not name, lost three fingers when the firework exploded in his left hand.
The man was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
